Tour of Italy

A beginner-level introduction to Italian wine combining a regional masterclass, comparative tastings and an Italian-inspired lunch with wine pairings.
About this course
The course surveys Italy’s principal wine regions and grape varieties, considering how climate, altitude, grape choice and winemaking techniques influence style. A guided masterclass uses contrasting wines, including lesser-known examples, to develop comparison and tasting skills. Participants also examine how Italian labels communicate information and how regional characteristics can be recognised in the glass. The learning continues over a four-course Italian-inspired lunch, where a selection of wines is used to explore food and wine matching. The tastings cover a broad range of Italian styles, from northern whites to wines from volcanic and southern regions.
