About this course
The course introduces core jewellery-making techniques using sheet metal and wire. Demonstrations, examples and technical notes cover impressing textures, cutting outlines and internal shapes, annealing, forming and finishing metal. Learners then have time to explore these methods through an individual piece of work, with advice on developing their ideas. Those with existing jewellery experience may work on their own project in consultation with the tutor.

Is this course right for you?
The course is labelled Beginner and is intended for learners starting to develop jewellery-making techniques. Participants should be able to follow simple written and verbal instructions, demonstrations and health and safety information, take part in group discussion, and use basic measurements and calculations.

Before you go
- Basic tools and equipment are provided.
- Basic materials, including base metals and workshop consumables, are supplied in reasonable quantities.
- Learners wishing to work in silver or on a large scale need to provide their own metal.
- Sensible footwear is required. Sandals, open shoes and small pumps are not permitted.
