Try it out: knotting and stringing for beads and pearls

About this course

The course explores methods for making beaded necklaces, bracelets and earrings, including stringing, knotting, macramé and wire wrapping. Demonstrations use tutor samples to show how techniques, beads, findings, wires and threads work together, with discussion of colour and jewellery design principles. Learners will examine ways to finish jewellery with metal findings, including the use of crimp beads and crimp tools. Small projects are demonstrated, while one-to-one and group discussion provide opportunities to consider design choices and approaches to working independently after the course.
