About this course
The course focuses on practical Turkish for situations such as hotel check-ins, ordering food, asking for directions, using transport and shopping. Learners practise useful vocabulary, polite expressions and strategies for rephrasing or requesting clarification when communication becomes difficult. Teaching combines guided conversations, role-plays, speaking drills and realistic travel scenarios. The course also introduces Turkish pronunciation, including ç, ş, ğ and undotted ı, as well as basic suffix patterns and vowel harmony. Cultural elements include Turkish hospitality, formal and informal address, and service interactions.
