Two and a half years in: how is the government faring?

About this course

The course examines the Labour government’s record since the July 2024 general election, considering progress against election commitments and responses to emerging issues. Discussion covers economic performance and growth, health and social care, employment, education, the environment, housing and planning, immigration, foreign policy and trade. Teaching combines lectures with invited participation in class discussion. Participants will also consider public responses and potential future policy developments, with optional tasks available to extend their knowledge.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for newcomers as well as learners with some background knowledge. It involves lecture-based teaching alongside group and class discussion, including consideration of views with which participants may disagree. A good grasp of English is needed to follow the course.
