  • Coordinate singing with ukulele playing
  • Use new chords and strumming patterns
  • Read and play from TAB
  • Apply accompaniment and melody parts within arrangements
  • Develop general musicianship through listening and group performance

Is this course right for you?

The course is labelled Improver and requires learners to be able to play six to eight chords and understand basic chord diagrams. It involves regular group playing, singing, listening to demonstrations and responding to material that may be unfamiliar. Complete beginners are advised to take a short preparatory class first.

  • Requires basic chord knowledge and the ability to play six to eight chords
  • Includes ensemble playing alongside other ukulele players
  • Some sessions may introduce music that learners have not previously practised
  • More advanced players may explore improvisation and solo ukulele pieces

Before you go

  • Bring a tuner, pen or pencil, and notebook.
  • The tutor supplies other course materials.
