About this course
The course develops sound production, bowing techniques and playing in higher positions, extending work up to the seventh position. Participants practise vibrato exercises and begin applying vibrato within repertoire, alongside scales, technical exercises and pieces up to ABRSM Grade 5 standard. Teaching takes place in a group, with weekly practice material covering repertoire and technique. Preparation for the ABRSM Grade 5 exam is available for those who choose it.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for intermediate violinists and violists with substantial prior study. The source indicates around four years of lessons and the ability to play Grade 4-standard pieces confidently and fluently. Sessions are group-based, with weekly material to practise independently between classes.
