About this course
This course introduces the foundations of healthy singing through physical and vocal warm-ups, technical exercises and work on selected songs. Participants explore posture, alignment, breathing, pitch, vocal quality, range, agility and resonance, alongside unaccompanied singing and singing with piano accompaniment. Basic musical features, notation and introductory interpretation are also covered. Group singing is the main format, with opportunities to work in pairs or individually. Tutor feedback, suggested practice goals and additional learning resources support development during the course.

Is this course right for you?
The course is designed for complete beginners and near-beginners. Music-reading ability is not required, although some ability to pitch notes within the learner’s vocal range is described as helpful. Participation centres on group singing, with possible work in pairs or individually, and includes gentle physical warm-ups. Regular practice is encouraged.
