About this course

Teaching combines demonstrations with supervised practical work in wax and metal casting. Participants are introduced to the lost-wax method and practise melting, modelling, carving, welding and stippling wax. They can develop a ring, pendant or earrings, with alternative projects discussed. The casting work covers melting sterling silver and using cuttlefish and sand casting techniques. Progress is assessed through observation and practical work during the session.
