About this course

The course examines the planning and operational demands of wedding photography, from venue visits and engagement shoots to managing changing weather, difficult guests and limited time. It also covers essential wedding images, posing and directing subjects, natural and portable lighting, image selection and client presentation. Teaching combines theory and planning with practical projects using models in studio and location settings. Business topics include sales, marketing, pricing and contracts, alongside discussion of camera equipment and developing different photographic techniques and looks.

Is this course right for you?

The course is labelled Improver and is intended for learners developing beyond fundamental camera controls. A good understanding of basic exposure and manual camera settings is advised. Participation includes theory, planning and practical projects with models in studio and location settings.

Before you go

• A DSLR or mirrorless camera with full manual controls is recommended; a camera can be borrowed if needed.
• A speedlite or flashgun is required for the practical photography, with flashguns available if participants do not own one.
• Participants are recommended to bring their camera manual, a fully charged battery and an empty memory card.
• Comfortable shoes are recommended.
