Willow Sculpture in the Stockwell Centre Garden

An introductory, practical willow sculpture and weaving workshop for all levels, combining demonstrations, discussion and tutor-guided making.
About this course
The course introduces willow sculpture through demonstrations of dry and soaked willow, tool and material selection, and techniques for shaping and weaving. Participants develop their own sculpture projects during practical making sessions, with guidance provided individually and in groups. Teaching includes question-and-answer sessions alongside live demonstrations. The emphasis is on sculpture using the tutor’s techniques rather than traditional basket weaving, although the two approaches have some elements in common.
