About this course
This tasting examines wines from the Istrian peninsula, a region spanning Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. Participants will taste eight wines from different producers, including sparkling and semi-sweet examples alongside the region’s principal Malvazija Istarska and Teran varieties. The selection includes youthful and aged Malvazija Istarska, as well as aged Teran, allowing comparisons between styles and vintages. Regional history and the influence of Istria’s Alpine, Mediterranean, Italian, Austro-Hungarian and Slavic cultural connections provide context for the wines.
