Wire Sculpture Taster

About this course

The course introduces wire as a sculptural material, considering how different metals behave and how they can be shaped. Participants practise controlling bends by hand and with tools, then investigate methods for joining wire in two and three dimensions. Teaching combines group demonstrations with one-to-one tutor guidance. Learners develop individual wire projects, including a small 3D sculpture, while considering the possibilities of wire within art and sculpture.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for all levels, including beginners, and has no stated entry requirements. It combines group teaching, one-to-one demonstrations and individual project work, so participants will have both shared instruction and time to develop their own piece.

Before you go

• Strong closed shoes or boots and protective clothing are required.
• All equipment and materials are provided.
