About this course
Participants begin with an industry-standard size 12 block, learning to read patterns and interpret styles before altering flat pattern pieces. The course covers dart manipulation, ease and fit, silhouette development, and adapting patterns to different fabrics. Pattern work includes collars, sleeves, bodices, skirts, trousers, dress linings, pockets, waistbands and yokes. Technical guidance addresses garment construction, including seam allowances, fastenings and pattern-piece layout for fabric cutting.
