About this course
Participants develop an individual sculpture project with guidance from a tutor, working at their own pace. Projects may be figurative, abstract or functional, using wood and, where appropriate, other materials. The course introduces wood carving and construction techniques, alongside safe use of tools and equipment. Teaching combines one-to-one guidance with technical demonstrations, presentations and group discussions about technical and creative subjects. Learners receive regular feedback and can explore different woods, methods and materials in relation to their projects.
