Woodblock and lino printmaking workshop

About this course

The workshop introduces relief printmaking through woodblock and lino, with reference to woodcut and linocut artists. Participants will prepare imagery for transfer, develop designs on blocks through cutting, etching and proofing, and examine how line and tone affect a print. Teaching combines demonstrations with individual application. The course also considers suitable inks and papers, and introduces printing both by hand burnishing and using a relief press. Wider printmaking approaches, including silkscreen, monoprinting and laser cutting, are discussed in relation to multimedia practice.
