About this course

Learners develop a project from an initial idea or adaptation, producing a basic plan or cutting list and choosing suitable materials and fixings. Workshop sessions cover accurate measuring and marking, joint selection, assembly, alignment and stability, with attention to safe and responsible tool use. Projects may include small tables, desks, storage units, shelving or boxes. The course also addresses finishing methods for improving durability and appearance, followed by evaluation of the completed work and consideration of future DIY or learning steps.
