About this course
The course surveys wine production across Australia, from the Hunter Valley and Clare Valley to Barossa, Coonawarra and Margaret River. It considers regional expressions of Semillon, Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, sparkling wine and fortified wine, alongside New Zealand’s Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Attention is also given to less familiar wines from both countries, including Pinot Gris, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand’s North and South Islands. The course focuses on how these regions and varieties contribute to distinctive styles.
