Write Your Artist’s Statement

About this course

The workshop examines a range of artists’ statements, considering their purpose and how effectively they communicate an artistic practice. Participants explore writing techniques intended to give statements greater impact and persuasive power, then apply these approaches while developing a statement about their own work. A group visualisation activity is used to generate ideas about their practice, with one-to-one coaching available during the writing process. The session concludes with participants sharing the statements they have produced.
