Writing and rewriting fairytales

The workshop examines the conventions and recurring tropes of fairytales before applying them to original writing. Participants will develop a fairytale plot, consider approaches to subverting the genre and draft its opening. Teaching combines presentations, extract analysis, pair and group discussion, and regular writing exercises, allowing learners to explore ideas through both analysis and practice.
