About this course
This workshop introduces the main components of haiku through examples from ancient and contemporary poets. Participants explore different approaches to the form, then use prompts and guided exercises to develop and write their own poems. Teaching combines a tutor talk, discussion and opportunities to share ideas and writing. The session also considers brevity and the use of showing rather than telling when composing haiku.
