About this course
The workshop examines the components and approaches of haiku through examples from prominent poets and other literary figures associated with the genre. Participants develop their own poems in response to a range of stimuli and prompts. Teaching combines tutor instruction with pair and group work, writing exercises and games. It also includes a writing workshop element, where participants’ work is discussed with the tutor and group in an open, constructive setting.

This beginner-level workshop is intended for learners with no prior experience of haiku or poetry writing. Participation includes pair and group work, writing exercises and discussion of participants’ work in an open, constructive workshop setting.
