About this course

Participants explore the main factors that shape wine styles and taste, including key grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Guided tastings use the WSET Systematic Approach to Tasting (SAT) to describe and compare nine wines. The course also covers food and wine matching, wine storage and service, and common faults. A practical pairing exercise forms part of the classroom teaching, followed by a multiple-choice examination for the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines.
