Advanced Improvisation

About this course

Participants develop their improvisation practice through longer-form work, more demanding exercises and a range of performance formats. The course examines how improvisation functions in different performance settings while encouraging performers to build on their individual strengths when working with others. Alongside practical performance work, participants develop a vocabulary for analysing their own improvisations, helping them identify areas of strength and challenge. The course is intended as a progression from foundational improvisation study, although applicants may qualify through other forms of acting experience or training.

Is this course right for you?

This advanced course is designed for confident performers, including working actors and learners who have completed introductory improvisation training. Entry is selective and requires professional acting credits, equivalent acting training or completion of the provider’s earlier improvisation course. Participants must be over 18 and fluent and confident in English.
