Chinese Beginner 3 Intensive

About this course

The course develops spoken Chinese through conversations about subjects including hobbies, weekends, phone calls, travel, holidays and languages. Learners continue practising Pinyin pronunciation and tones while being introduced to 25 single-component Hanzi and ways to use them in words and further characters. Grammar work covers verb aspects using 了, 过 and 正在, alongside frequency and degree adverbs, duration, and ways to express dos and don’ts. Review and practice sessions are included during and at the end of the course.

This Beginner (A1) course is intended for learners developing beyond the earliest foundations of Chinese. The provider identifies a good Pinyin foundation as appropriate preparation and describes knowledge of around 150 or more words as ideal. Participation centres on conversational practice across familiar everyday topics.
