Greek Beginners Stage 1

About this course

The course introduces the Greek alphabet and supports early communication through vocabulary and basic grammar. Participants practise spelling their names, reading and writing simple words and sentences, introducing themselves and understanding a simple reply. Teaching combines role-play, listening activities and structured practice. Sessions also include exploration of Greek culture and traditions, with progress reviewed through classroom activities and recorded in a Personal Learning Plan.

What you'll learn

• Recognise Greek alphabet letters and spell a name
• Read and write simple Greek words and sentences
• Introduce oneself and understand a simple reply
• Recognise and use the present tense in a basic sentence

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for complete beginners as well as learners with some existing knowledge of Greek who want to develop further. Participation includes role-play, listening tasks and structured classroom practice.

• No previous knowledge of Greek is needed
• Regular attendance is recommended for continued language practice
