About this course

The course introduces spoken and written Greek through everyday exchanges, including greetings, introductions, personal details and ways to ask and answer how someone is. Early language work covers the Greek alphabet and phonetics, articles, grammatical gender, personal pronouns, the verb to be and the vocative case. Vocabulary includes countries, towns and numbers from 0 to 10. Teaching follows the first two chapters of a Greek language coursebook, with online lesson summaries, notes and additional resources available to support study between lessons.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for complete beginners who have never studied Greek. The Beginner (A1) label indicates an introductory level, with participation focused on practising basic communication and building an initial understanding of Greek sounds, vocabulary and grammar.

• No previous Greek study is stated as necessary.

Before you go

• The coursebook is required and should be purchased after the first lesson. Copies are available from reception on the day of the second lesson.
