About this course
The course introduces Japanese through Hiragana, with learners developing the ability to read all 46 characters and practise natural pronunciation. Lesson-based conversation practice covers greetings, introductions, numbers, time, shopping, travel plans and whereabouts. Grammar work includes basic sentence structure, pronouns and ownership, the -desu and -masu forms, and basic verbs. The final lesson includes review and presentations, bringing together the language covered across the course.
