About this course

The course develops foundational Japanese through continued Hiragana and Katakana practice, alongside 30 basic Kanji. Lessons combine pronunciation work, conversation practice, grammar explanation and review activities. Topics include making requests, describing routes and transport, asking for permission, forbidding actions and explaining what is happening. Key grammar includes the -te, -nai and -tai forms, as well as distinctions between progressive actions and current states. The course includes a mid-course review and a final review with presentation.

This course is intended for advanced beginners at Beginner (A1) level who already have a foundation in Hiragana and Katakana and a vocabulary of more than 300 words. It involves regular pronunciation, conversation and review practice, with a presentation at the end.
