Scene Study

About this course

Participants analyse and rehearse scenes from a range of texts, working collectively and in small groups before sharing and workshopping their prepared material in class. The course examines approaches associated with Stanislavski, Uta Hagen and Sanford Meisner, applying these techniques to rehearsal and performance. Emphasis is placed on developing a practical approach to text analysis, refining rehearsal methods and making detailed, specific choices within scenes.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for beginners with no prior experience, as well as learners new to scene study from an actor’s perspective. Participants work collectively and in small groups, preparing material to share and workshop. It is open to people considering drama school and is intended for those aged over 18 with fluent, confident English.
