Self-portraiture: experiment with creative approaches

About this course

Participants explore self-portraiture through observation and imagination, using drawing and mixed media techniques to test different ways of representing themselves. Practical studio sessions combine demonstrations, guided exercises and references to artists’ work, with time to experiment and reflect on decisions about composition and mark-making. Informal feedback is integrated into the sessions through tutor guidance, group discussion and peer responses. Participants create a piece or selection of samples to take away.
