About this course
The course introduces a range of pottery processes, including hand building, wheel throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Each session focuses on a different technique, giving participants opportunities to work with clay in varied ways rather than concentrating on a single method. The pace is adaptable: learners can take a more focused approach to developing techniques, while the teaching team provides guidance throughout. The course is suitable for beginners through to intermediate makers and is open to children and adults.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for beginners through to intermediate pottery makers and is open to participants aged six and over. Under-16s must be accompanied by a guardian, who needs a ticket to participate or may remain in the studio without leaving the child unattended.

Before you go
- All course materials are provided, including buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes.
- Clay intended for firing is charged by weight.
- Wear clothes that can get dirty; bringing an apron is optional.
- A student handbook is sent before the course.
- Missed sessions cannot be made up at other times, although the teacher will help returning students catch up.
