About this course

Participants work with scenes from Shakespeare, examining the detail and action of each extract alongside its context within the play. The workshop considers character development and arcs, and how close attention to text can inform emotional connection and communication with fellow actors and an audience. Teaching centres on exploring different approaches to classical plays and applying them to rehearsal and performance practice.

The course is intended for actors developing or refreshing classical skills. The Improver level suggests work beyond introductory study, and the provider states that participants need prior experience in acting classes, workshops or an acting training setting. Fluent, confident English and an age of over 18 are also specified.
