About this course
The course develops pottery skills across hand building, wheel throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Each week focuses on a different technique, with time set aside for practice and experimentation with clay. Learners can work at their own pace in a focused studio setting, using the sessions to advance existing skills and explore new techniques.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for makers with prior pottery experience, including basic hand-building and wheel-throwing skills. It joins the second week of a longer course, so learners are expected to have techniques they can build upon. The pace is largely self-directed.

- Requires basic hand-building and wheel-throwing experience
- Learners can work at their own pace
Before you go
- Materials are provided, including buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes.
- Clay can be fired for an additional charge based on the amount used.
- Wear clothes that can get dirty; an apron may also be brought.
- Students may miss sessions and catch up with the teacher, but missed classes cannot be made up at other times or swapped after the course begins.
