About this course

The course introduces a range of pottery processes, including hand-building, wheel-throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Each week has a different technique focus, while time is also set aside for practising and experimenting with clay. Participants can set their own pace within the course structure, using the sessions to develop existing skills or explore unfamiliar techniques. The course is designed for both beginners and people with previous pottery experience.

Before you go

• Materials are provided, including buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes.
• Clay that learners want fired is charged by weight.
• Wear clothes that can get dirty.
• An apron may be brought or purchased separately.
• A student handbook is sent before the course.
