About this course

Sessions introduce a different pottery technique each week, including hand building, wheel throwing, surface decoration and glazing. Alongside guided teaching, participants have time to practise and experiment with clay, with the pace adjusted to their individual focus and progress. The course uses buff stoneware clay and provides access to studio tools, slips, moulds and glazes. It combines structured technique-based learning with independent making time.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for complete beginners as well as intermediate-level makers. Its all-level format combines weekly technique teaching with time for individual practice, so participants can determine how much they focus on developing skills or experimenting with clay.

Before you go

• Wear clothes that can get dirty.
• Buff stoneware clay, tools, slips, moulds and studio glazes are available for use during the course.
• Participants may bring their own apron.
